Kierunki badań mediów społecznościowych w biznesie, ekonomii i psychologii (2010-2018) [Social media research trends in business, economics and psychology (2010-2018)] Yash Chawla (Katedra Badań Operacyjnych, PWr, Wrocław) Social Media has integrated into the lives of billions across the globe and is still projected to spread further in the coming years. Drawing upon this emphatic social media phenomenon in both practical and academic perspective, this study explores the statistical patterns and trends in social media research over the past 9 years across three Scopus disciplines: (i) Business, Management and Accounting (BUSI), (ii) Economics, Econometrics and Finance (ECON) and (iii) Psychology (PSYC). Statistics, keywords, abstracts and other attributes of research articles, review articles and articles in press containing the phrase "social media" either in their abstract, keywords or title have been analyzed. Overall, 1406 journals and 8470 documents have been considered. Findings from the study indicate a steady increase in the studies related to social media in all the domains under focus. Some topics have received more attention whereas some are now gaining momentum. We have also found that over the last nine years interdisciplinary topics have attracted the scholars more and more, as they keep pace with the increased usage and penetration of this new medium.
