Head injuries have been recently a major study problem around the world. With the focus 
on sports-related injuries, the perfect research group is a local American Football 
team. With the development of 3D head models it is possible to mimic various head 
impacts recorded during the practice or game. The technological aspect is improving the 
protective gear to decrease the probability of brain injuries such as concussion. The 
research can be widened to boxing, MMA or bicycle impacts. The presentation will focus 
on PhD motivation, research and plans.
