Wyzwania budowania zespołów w organizacjach [Challenges of team building in organizations] Wojciech Gurgul (Entrepreneur & advisor, Wrocław; former CEO of Xebia Polandand PGS Software) There are different approaches to building teams. One can start by defining a task and then selecting the best-suited individuals for it (don't put people first ...), or one can assemble a team of talented people and take on the world together, assuming that with such a team, any challenge can be overcome (first who ... than what). Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to observe and operate within both models. Each has its strengths and weaknesses ... unfortunately, there is no single perfect solution. During the seminar, I will discuss the pros and cons of each approach, drawing insights from two books: • CEO Excellence: The Six Mindsets That Distinguish the Best Leaders from the Rest by Carolyn Dewar, Scott Keller, and Vikram Malhotra • Good to Great by Jim Collins I will also share my personal observations and preferences, as well as the mistakes I have made and the decisions I have never regretted.
