Modelowanie CFD sprzężonego przenoszenia ciepła w lodówkach [CFD modelling of conjugated heat transfer in refrigerators] Darya Krasota (Wydział Mechaniczno-Energetyczny, PWr, Wrocław) The upcoming changes in global energy label for domestic refrigerators require a deep dive on heat transfer phenomena inside both fridge and freezer compartments. CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) can be used as a tool in order to support the design process, compare the airflow patterns for different concepts, identify stagnation zones, estimate temperature stratification, which furthermore can significantly reduce the cost of investments and save laboratory resources. During the presentation I will describe the general concept of CFD modelling (i.e., designing a simulation model to solve an engineering problem involving fluid flows) and discuss sample projects.
