Despite being a groundbreaking approach, the X-model of Ziel and Steinert 
(2016, Energy Economics) has neither been widely studied nor much developed 
further. And yet, the possibilities to improve the model can be as numerous 
as the fields it can be applied to. The present study examines the assumption 
of an inelastic demand curve in an electricity market and combines this 
assumption with the X-model. As a result, the computational requirements of 
the model reduce, whereas its forecasting power remains unchanged.
