Nowadays IT virtual teams are characterized, among others, by high level of cultural 
diversity, which often mitigates the performance of the team. Cross-cultural 
collaboration became an important issue in the field of team management. The 
presentation concerns the progress of PhD study concerning the management of IT virtual 
teams. The theoretical model was already developed and it offers insights concerning 
the elements, which are able to boost IT virtual teams performance. The presentation 
concerns the application of the research results into the selected company.
