Nanomateriały węglowe z zamkniętymi nanocząstkami metali jako elektrokatalizatory do rozszczepiania wody [Carbon nanomaterials with encapsulated metal nanoparticles as electrocatalysts for water splitting] Katarzyna Chęć (Doctoral School - Chemical Engineering, PWr, Wrocław) A viable fuel that can replace the existing gaseous fuels is hydrogen. Hydrogen can be produced by splitting water with the application of electricity. It is known that certain materials, termed catalysts, facilitate these water-splitting reactions. Advanced synthesis methods can be used to create novel catalysts that have better performance and stability. Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is a synthesis method used in our lab to create carbon materials having nanostructures. These carbon nanostructures can be combined with metal catalysts to increase their stability in water-splitting reactions. The research aims to synthesise such electrocatlysts using CVD and analyse their performance with advanced characterization facilities.
