Kinetyczne modele wymiany opinii: Kilka realistycznych zastosowań [Kinetic exchange models of opinion formation: Some realistic applications] Parongama Sen (Department of Physics, University of Calcutta, India) How people form opinions on public issues has been a subject of intense research in recent times. Several agent-based models have been proposed to understand this process, involving different types of interactions between agents. In the kinetic exchange models of opinion formation, individuals' opinions evolve following an "exchange" of their opinions. We present a brief overview of such models before focusing on the so-called BChS model. This model can be applied to several realistic social phenomena and, in particular, can explain certain features of the US presidential election results and Brexit.
