Universal access to energy and its impact on social as well as economic indicators 
are pressing issues yet to be addressed. The present paper estimates the impact of 
electrification on households' welfare by analyzing panel cross-sectional national 
survey data in Bangladesh. We explore a panel survey conducted in 2011, 2015, and 
2018-2019, comprising 18.5 thousand households in rural Bangladesh. Our findings 
indicate that electrification significantly impacts households' income, expenditure, 
education, health, and environmental outcomes.
