BI Day (19.11.2024)
Food Alert Simulation: Policy Simulation on Building Resilience to Food Crisis
- Participants in the Food Alert policy simulation assume the roles of crisis "Task Force" members entrusted with the crucial role of formulating policy recommendations for senior EU decision-makers, to address an unfolding food crisis. Participants are split into three working groups, each addressing a different aspect of the multifaceted nature of the scenario: Crisis Response Mechanisms, Agriculture & Food Production, and Trade & Finance.
- The exercise uses a crisis scenario to immerse participants in the co-creation of potential policy responses, and mitigate the impacts of such a crisis. The participants developed and presented their ideas and proposals for improving and strengthening food system resilience.
- "It felt real. I had to remind myself that it was just a simulation," recalled a participant. The simulation invokes emotions, encourages learning and knowledge sharing, and motivates collaborative action.
